Sweet and Sour Sauce with Vegetables Restaurant Style

This Chinese sweet and sour sauce tastes just like the one you get in a Chinese restaurant. The sauce with stir fried vegetables and tofu served over noodles is an easy weeknight meal.

Ingredients
1/3cuprice vinegar
1/3cupbrown sugar
1tablespoontomato paste
1/8teaspoonChinese five spice powder
1/8teaspoonsalt
1teaspoonginger paste
¼teaspoonpepper flakes
1teaspoonsoy sauce
2tablespooncorn starch
2tablespoonwater
1 14oz can pineapple chunks in unsweetened juice (drain the pineapple keeping the juice)
1cuppineapple juice
Directions
In a small bowl mix the water with the corn starch and soy sauce.
Mix together until there are no lumps.
Place 2 tsp of oil in a wok
Mix together the pepper flakes, ginger paste and five spice.
Sauté for a few minutes then add the pineapple juice.
Add the brown sugar, rice vinegar and salt.
Then mix in the tomato paste, followed by the corn starch and soy sauce mixture.
This mixture will take about 5 minutes to thicken, empty into a bowl.
